Getting Ready for a Craft Show– The Sequel

After actually going through the maternity fair  a couple of weeks ago, I’d like to share some more tips that might help you on the day of your event. Looking back, there are a few things that I did right, and a couple of things I could have done better.

Here are seven tips to help you remember some of the details:

#1 Don’t forget stuff at home. Sounds easy, right? But it’s really, really helpful not to have to make a trip to the store.

#2 Bring someone with you who will calm and support you. And who will also run to the store for candy which you forgot at home. And who will send you the perfect text when you are freaking out. (Yeah, that’s my husband.)

#3 Bring paper. You might need it.

#4 Have a place for people to sign up for something, e.g., a mailing list, a coupon, etc.. It’d be best to have this sign-up sheet ready-to-go before you get there.

#5 Take time to set up your booth and take a picture before people start showing up. Otherwise you might just not have time to take one!

#6 Eat some breakfast! Trust me. It’s a good plan. (says the person who skipped breakfast on the morning of her craft fair…)

#7 Enjoy yourself! Compared to a regular day of crafting and running a business, this will probably be an exciting day full of making connections. Enjoy coming out of your crafty hole and interacting with other humans!

What’s the most exciting thing you did to promote your blog or business lately? Tell me all about it in the comments below, or on twitter!
